Zero unveils its new 2021 electric motorcycle lineup

Zero has unveiled its new lineup for the 2021 model year, featuring updates to its full model range.

The California-based North American leader in electric motorcycles, Zero Motorcycles, has long offered a variety of bikes covering both street and off-road rides.

The company’s 2021 lineup is headed by Zero’s two new electric motorcycles Zero SR / S and Zero SR / F.

Both bikes were unveiled on the new platform and provide the company’s highest performance figures ever. They have 82 kW motors and can reach speeds of 124 miles per hour (200 km / h). It runs on Zero’s Cypher III operating operating system, and now all Zero models have either the Cypher II or Cypher III operating system.

The Zero SR / S was introduced earlier this year and is the company’s first complete-failure sport bike. Aerodynamic advantages over naked SR / F offer range of up to 13%.

In addition to the “re-launched” Zero SR / S, the company has also updated its street and dual-sport lineups.

2021 Zero Street Bikes

2021 Zero Street bikes include FXS, S, SR, SR / F, and SR / S.

We’ve reviewed the FXS in the past and found it to be an incredible urban electric motorcycle. It starts at 11,295, for the 9,295 or 7.2 kWh model only, for the modular 3.6 kWh battery model. While those prices may seem high to some, they are a bargain in the world of highway-capable electric motorcycles.

The Zero S and SR bikes offer more speed and power than the FXS, as well as the option of more batteries. In fact, the Zero SR is the longest range bike at the top, with a range of up to 359 km (223 miles). The price of that bike, is 15,495.

All these models have been updated for 2021 with new colorways and graphics, which are given below.

And of course Zero SR / F and SR / S Zero lead the pack in terms of the performance of street bikes.

We recently reviewed Zero SR / F and you can watch our review video below.

2021 Zero dual-sport bike

Zero’s trail-oriented bikes include the new 2021 FX, DS, DSR, and DSR Black Forest models.

The bikes have the same performance specs, but the features are better suited to part-road rides, making dual-purpose bikes that can handle both morning rides and afternoon adventure rides.

The DSR Black Forest is the brand’s true adventure-style bike that was first unveiled late last year. It is built on the same platform as the DSR, but offers a more appropriate upgrade for typical ADV riding. It’s slightly more expensive than the rest of the dual-sports lineup, at $ 18,995.

The DSR is priced at, 15,495 and has the same 359km (223 mi) maximum range as the SR, as it shares the same 14.4kWh battery pack. The DS is available at $ 10,995 and the FX starts at 9,295.

While Zero has not increased the capacity of their base 7.2 kWh or 14.4 kWh battery pack for many years now, last year they released a new motor called the ZForce ZF75-10. It powers the motor SR / F and SR / S, and is the most powerful motor of zero ever.

The lack of other major technical updates may be related to the difficult years of fighting civil-19 supply chain disruptions and other operational bottlenecks.

As Sam Peschel, CEO of Zero Motorcycles, explains:

“Despite the challenges of 2020, zero motorcycles have seen impressive growth. Unprecedented interest in the new SR / S is matched by the pace of sales build of our Enduro and Dual Sport models. Despite challenges and closures due to epidemic lockdowns and recent wildlife this calendar year, we have maintained our position as a brand to meet the rapidly evolving demand for our products and advance and determine the future of Electric Motorcycle class
