San Diego Comic-Con could be, well, in home this year, but Zack Snyder skipped the virtual line, and even the official event, to join a group of fans in celebration that the director can finally to work on and complet your own version of League of Justice. And he celebrated in style, taking a small look at what will come with it.

There is no official Snyder presence at SDCC this year, or Warner Bros. as a studio, choosing to run their own event “DC FanDome” next month to debut new League of Justice images—But the director brought the noise as part of Justice Con, a fan event that took place over the weekend. Snyder’s chat with pop culture bloggers The Nerd Queens revealed some details about what people can expect from the director’s radical review of the job he first did. started in 2017. But he also took a very small look at his cut from the movie: specifically, the moment when Superman (Henry Cavill), dressed in his black suit, flies into Bruce’s hideout (Ben Affleck) and bumps into Alfred (Jeremy Irons) .

This clip has been viewed before: released as a deleted scene for League of JusticeThe eventual release at home, where the suit was actually his usual red, yellow, and blue (seen in our top photo), but this time it’s in the uncut IMAX format that Snyder is currently formatting his entire cut for aand of course if the characteristics he strongly rumored black suit that was never seen in Joss Whedon’s version.

Snyder pressed for the black suit to appear League of Justice, as the “correct evolution” for the character, but Warner Bros. allegedly rejected it as being “too dark” for the character. As Snyder shot the suit as it was, he noted that the production team ran tests to find a way to recolor the suit in post-production … the fruit of the work can be seen above.

Beyond discussing the little snippet of footage, which the director joked is just a precursor to much more to be shown at Warner Bros. ‘FanDome event in August—Snyder also offered an update on where the work is located in his extended court, supposedly about four hours from the film. According to the director, the version of the movie that the officer “Zack Snyder’s is building League of Justice“(Name pending legal agreement with Warner Bros, apparently) from is based on a final cut ended in February 2017, just a few months before Snyder had to leave production due to tragic personal circumstances. In addition to finishing the visual effects work, the “new” cut restores the IMAX 1: 4: 3 aspect ratio in which Snyder intended to present the entire film, rather than just individual scenes, as was the case with Batman v SupermanIMAX presentation.

Even before unfortunate events drove Snyder away from his project, the director always believed that, while his massive cut of the film could never be considered for League of Justicetheatrical release, that some day some version of him would see an official release, either on HBO or on a Limited capacity in theaters. Now, four years later, when it starts streaming, you will finally get your wish. You can see the full panel with Snyder below, the short footage can be viewed at 38:07.

From Snyder League of Justice is slated to release on HBO Max sometime in 2021. We’ll see more of the movie next month, when Warner Bros. ‘The DC FanDome event begins on August 22.
