While Samsung did not exactly knock it out of the park on the first attempt in the Apple-dominated “hearables” space, with our in-depth review as the original Galaxy Buds a bit overwhelming across a few key departments, it’s undoubtedly hard to find better AirPods alternatives at the moment than the company’s second- and third-gen true wireless earbuds.
Of course, we can not say that it is newly revealed Galaxy Buds Live follows in the footsteps of the Galaxy Buds + was released earlier this year, instead complementing Samsung’s AirPods competing product portfolio with a new (and divisive) design, as well as a major addition to an already impressive list of features.
As such, we will not shy away from the fact that Samsung has decided to keep the “old” Galaxy Buds + running, but if you are not too bothered by the … unusual shape of the $ 170 Buds Live, there is no much reason to consider even buying the model without active technology for loud cancellation in drag against its list list price of $ 150
If you can drop $ 50 without cutting feature angles, then that’s obviously a completely different story, and believe it or not, that’s exactly what’s available at Woot at the moment. You only have 24 hours (and counting) to buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds + in your choice of four painting tasks at a moderate $ 99.99 per pair, and yes, we’re talking about new, unused, unopened and unamaged items here.
The only inconvenience is that you have to arrange for a 90 day seller warranty instead of the typical 1 year period that is covered by the manufacturer when buying these types of products brand new from an authorized retailer. But we can probably all agree that there is no deal breaker for a pair of truly wireless earbuds that can hold your favorite music for up to 11 hours on a single charge, while squeezing an extra 11 hours of endurance from their bundled wireless charging case.
These are probably some of the slimmest, most beautiful and most comfortable AirPods rivals on the market today, and while they do not offer modern functionality for active sound cancellation, their overall audio quality and Ambient Aware technology are essentially as great as those things to get.
