Despite all the excitement and excitement surrounding Lenovo’s Chromebook Duet, the availability-on-arrival of this affordable and sought-after Chromebook tablet has been a bit odd. Lenovo’s other major Chromebook, the Flex 5, has been available and shipped from Amazon from day one and the price has not been exhausted or fluctuated even once. By contrast, the Duet came first to Best Buy in the highest storage configuration for $ 299 with no signal from the lower-priced 64GB configuration and has continuously bounced between available and sold out.
In the midst of all that, availability popped up at Walmart out of nowhere and we had multiple reports of the device silently popping up on Walmart shelves in the 64GB configuration and for a lower-than-expected price: $ 249. The capture? At first, you just had to go to the physical store and check the supply. Not long after, Walmart’s online presence finally began showing the inventory numbers of its local store, but was unable to order the device from there. A few days later, online orders were opened, but could not be shipped. It has been a little exhausting.
As we hoped it would eventually happen, it now appears that you can order the Walmart Duet the way you would expect: put it in the cart, pay and send it to your door. Why this has taken so long is a mystery to say the least, and I have no real hypothesis as to why this pattern emerged in the first place. What excites me is the fact that you can now visit walmart.com and purchase a fantastic Chromebook in the Duet for a bit of a silly price. At $ 249, the value proposition is absolutely insane on this Chromebook. You can check out our full review to see our full thoughts on this tiny Chrome OS tablet, but the short story is that there’s nothing on the market like this, and very few pieces of technology you can buy for this amount of money that they do. much. At least now the process for doing so makes much more sense.
