The WWE Draft usually happens after WrestleMania, but due to the coronavirus epidemic changing everything for the company this year, it was moved to Friday’s SmackDown and Monday’s ROM.

About 60 superstars on both rosters, including the champion, qualified for the draft. Before he knew if they were on the same show, Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens fought on this week’s SmackDown.

There was a False Counts Anniversary match between Sheamus and the Big E, a women’s championship match defending Bailey against Sasha Banks, and a Miz and John Morrison match taking with Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy.

WWE put 60 superstars and tag teams in the draft pool. Anyone who was not unfamiliar was able to sign with the brand of their choice.

Let’s take a look at what happened last night from the WWE Draft on SmackDown.

Each superstar in the draft will be placed in a pool and selected by each brand, which means they will have a lot of pick raw and smackdown they have before the draft starts.

This page will be constantly updated after each draft picks up. Here’s the raw and sent to SmackDown:

  • Drew I stop at the container row.
  • Roman rule remains on SmackDown.
  • Asuka remains raw.
  • Seth Rollins turns to SmackDown.
  • Hurt business stays on raw.

Stephanie McMahon came on stage to open the show. He said he was waiting for the presidency of the draft and immediately announced that McIntyre had been laid bare.

Raj, who chose SmackDown, retained Asuka and became the first person to officially change brands by transferring Rollins to SmackDown. Rowe, the final pick of the first round, stabilized the entire Hurt business with MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Big E came up against Sheamus for the first match of the night. They went right after each other and Shamus took control with Rolling Sandon to do the first two-count. Big EA planted it with Urinagi before rescuing him with an apron up to the floor.

The Celtic Warrior tied the Big E to a rope and hung a cane stick on it. After breaking free, The New Day’s Powerhouse managed to wrap Shamus’ legs in duct tape so he could get some of his own shots from the cando stick.

We returned from a break to watch them fight backstage. Sheamus was already showing huge welcome signs on his back when he slammed Big E on the table. He showed dislike for his opponent but laid flour and eggs over Big Ina’s head.

Big EA smashed a broom over Shamus’s back before picking up trash and hitting him several times. They fought in the garage and found a tire iron to use as a weapon. He picked up the Big E and delivered it to the White Noise Windshield but failed to get the pin.

He put the Big E in a trunk and tried to slam his hand but the powerhouse survived the destruction. He picked up Shamus and power-bombed him on the hood of the car. He got on with it and hit the big ending through the table for the win.

    Analysis

With only one person actually changing brands, the first round of the 2020 draft was a little short. Rollins is a good choice for SmackDown though.

When it comes to the False Count Anniversary match, Big E and Shimos were second to none. The two men beat and injured each other after limiting each other.

The struggle may have lasted longer than it needed to, but this was a fantastic finale, especially if they ended up on different brands after the draft.
