A promo from Bayley and Sasha Banks gave place to the Raw, SmackDown and Women’s Tag Team Champions who served as special announcers for hosting the Tri-Branded Battle Royal to address the No. 1 for the title of the former .

Participants included The IIconics’ Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, Shotzi Blackheart of NXT and Tegan Nox, Lacey Evans, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke and Tamina Snuka.

The eliminations came quickly and furiously early, leading to a lane between Riott, Morgan and The IIconics. A little later, Tamina Cross eliminated in a bit of a surprise. Snuka came face-to-face with Belair in a showdown of powerhouses. The EST got the best of that exchange, delivering a spear and eliminating them.

Naomi and Evans regained their rivalry, the latter getting the best of their enemy with the Woman’s Right. Blackheart dumped her. Baszler applied the Karifuji Clutch to Shotzi and Evans pulled her to the floor. Belair’s own momentum cost her when Nox sent her to the floor. The NXT star fired both Asuka and Baszler, in search of the unpredictable win.

Brooke, never eliminated in the match before, dragged Nox over the top and to the floor before joining Baszler and Asuka. Her rune was of short life, as The Empress of Tomorrow sent her grandfather. The Queen of Spades started on Asuka with a nasty kick, but the former Raw champion eliminated elimination by standing on the fallen bodies of Bayley and Banks.

Asuka eventually eliminated Baszler to win the match and title shot.

Analyze

This was not a particularly good match, but also most battle royals.

The booking was interesting, to say the least. Did we really need to see Asuka win another title game despite already having one against Sasha Banks? Why would even Baszler pick up and threaten to tarnish their credibility in a match like this when they could have used Snuka in the same place?

Ditto Belair, who is not enough with the main roster audience to simply sacrifice their momentum in a meaningless battle club.

This did not help to help anyone who was not already involved in the image of the women’s title and saw the sheer number of talented competitors involved, which is the biggest charge on this whole order.

But hey, Bayley and Banks were great as the unforgettable ring experts, so there it is.
