WWE SmackDown Results, Recap, Grade: Sasha Banks Defends Title, Rules Roman Rule

On this week’s edition of SmackDown, the Men’s and Women’s Survivor Series teams continue to come together ahead of this month’s pay-per-view event. But the biggest headline coming out of the event could be Sasha Banks who successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship – the first time she has successfully defended her title as a world champion with a victory of six stains.

Banks had to resist the challenge of his former best friend after Bayel managed to get the match back after he was forced to sign a sale deal with Hale last month. Banks managed to win, but the celebration lasted only a moment before being turned a deaf ear by the former champion.

CBS Sports was with you all night, providing highlights and raps of the night’s action. Read on for everything you need to know to get out of SmackDown.

Sasha Banks beat Belle, but a new threat came out

Bailey began the show with a backstage interview after a video package covering her history with Sasha Banks. Asked what sentiments have been expressed by the package, Bailey rejoiced at the memories of his ruthless attack on banks in early September. She then pointed out that Banks had never successfully defended the World Championship, and said it would continue in their match, which is now the next one.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Sasha Banks (C) Def. Bailey by submission Banks with statement. After a fairly standard start to the match, both women jumped on the ring apron and Banks moved Belle’s head into the ring post using her knees. Seconds later, Belle used a modified monkey flip, to launch the banks into the air and crash down on the apron. A match made on a hot stretch where Bailey hit Belle-to-Belly for a close fall. He later followed with an elbow drop for two more counting seconds, as Banks kept trying to fight another failed title defense. Bailey kept the banks locked in their own bank statement, only to manage to save the champion from danger again. The taps will lock in the same moments to push the taps and retain the championship. As the banks walked over the entrance, they were met by a superkick from Carmella, which continued the attack and left the banks out of the cold.

Apparently, Belle and Banks have very nice chemistry in the ring and they delivered again. Along with the match there are small quibbles, such as just two commercial breaks during the match that were held just a few minutes apart. With the exception of that slight distraction, the match was the high-quality affair you would expect. Emerging as the next threat to banks, Carmella is somewhat clear considering its multi-week vinet plan, but it’s hard to say how exciting it is as a challenge. Grade: B +

The Roman rulers met in the JU uso line

Like Soo was getting coffee on the backstage when Kevin Owens confronted him about “rough time” when Yuso was coming. Owens made a joke that Paul Layman should get Roman Reigns coffee, and that would lead Uso to think that Owens thinks his family is a joke. Owens cooled things down and said he just wanted to talk to So Soo as a Survivor Series companion and suggested that he suggest going to DeCoff. After the business break, so Sono was interviewed backstage. He explained that after his match on SmackDown last week when he attacked Daniel Bryan, he said Brian was his friend, but not his family. Hayman then interrupted and asked if Reinze had allowed the interview, things were over, when Uso was annoyed at Kaila Braxton for making jokes about Haymon being better standing in the family than Uso. The regime later annoyed Uso and Heyman on the show, saying Heyman should be informed about the interview and Uso should handle Ons for his disrespect.

G Uso Def. Kevin Owens by Pinfall After a Uso splash. Match, Rains’ earlier comments on ‘The idea was to make things right after the ons’. Early in the match, when Owens was handling things, Ryanes was shown the back to send Hyman to the ringside. With Hayman on the ringside, Uso stepped up the attack, but still had to give up as much as Owens got and eventually scored a close fall with Swanton. As Owens took over the match, Raines’ music hit, distracting the referee and allowing So Son to hit less. Moments followed later with Uso splash for victory. Entering the match after the match, Raj met US and the two introduced the show off.

So I was relieved to see the story between Soo and the regime moving towards this mutual intensity. And the ruler rules with an iron fist and sets the expectation that Uso will do nothing without his permission and approval is a great character development. So Soe has proven himself to be a true singles genius and he’s more than just taking part in this story, even if he’s asked. It’s hard to find fault with what they’re doing. Grade: A-
