In fact, so much is happening in WWE, across the world of professional wrestling, that it’s really hard to keep track of the latest developments. With that in mind, today’s edition of the WWE Rumor Roundup newspaper is stacked.

There is an apparent backstage concern about Braun Strowman’s WWE status and his continued push as the WWE Universal Champion.

The COVID-19 situation is reportedly getting out of hand, as the number of positive cases in WWE is alarmingly high.

We have an update on Renee Young’s condition after her tweet confirming that she had contracted the virus.

A young and popular WWE NXT Superstar is reportedly also under the scanner and reports indicate she may be dating. Supposedly, WWE is set to clear the roster of all the troublesome talents, and that could lead to some high-profile releases.

Last but not least, we have an update on SummerSlam’s planned main event that could see a big name return to WWE TV. Before we begin, you can prepare by viewing the summary of the most important news and rumors from last week in WWE!

# 5. Backstage concern in WWE regarding Braun Strowman’s momentum

Tom Colohue revealed in the latest Dropkick DiSKussions podcast that there are dissident voices behind the scenes who are reportedly not in favor of Braun Strowman.

There are people behind the scenes who are not convinced that Braun Strowman is pushed as the best on SmackDown, and there have been constant debates about the continued push of Monster Among Men.

Backstage concern could lead WWE to return the Universal title to Bray Wyatt every time The Fiend returns, however many other possibilities were discussed.

Tom speculated that if Wyatt manages to retain, it could lead to the return of Roman Reigns sooner rather than later. If Strowman withholds, then Wyatt could be on his way to RAW.

Tom noted the following:

“As far as Strowman was concerned, he was the right guy at the right time, but he was lucky in this Championship. This was never the plan. Unfortunately for Braun, there are many dissident voices that are not necessarily in his corner.” There’s a lot of debate going on almost constantly about whether Strowman is the right guy, but the top tier on SmackDown is very clear right now. What I think we’re going to see, is if The Fiend loses, then The Fiend will probably return to RAW, whereas if The Fiend wins, Roman Reigns will probably return soon. As for Strowman, I’m not sure, and I think it’s a bad sign. “

WWE announced on SmackDown that Wyatt would face Strowman in a fight in Wyatt’s swamp at Extreme Rules and the match will not be interesting for the Universal title.
