WR Cardinals charged with OVI after driving car to Lake Erie

(Put-in-Bay Police Department)

Arizona Cardinals rookie rookie catcher Jermiah Lamont Braswell was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Put-In-Bay, Ohio, after driving his Camaro into the waters of Lake Erie, police said.

Braswell was found in the driver’s seat of the car trying to move forward and told officers that he was trapped and did not know what happened.

Witnesses told officers that the Camaro was driving at high speed when it flew from the embankment into the lake around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Authorities noted that Braswell’s speech was washed away and he was unable to explain how his Camaro ended up in the water.

A test determined that his blood alcohol content exceeded the Ohio limit, police said.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and no one else was injured.

Before joining the Cardinals in May, Braswell played at Youngstown State, securing 11 touchdowns with 986 yards in 40 games played over four seasons at the school.
