A woman threw a tantrum at a Costco after employees asked her to wear a mask
What about the multitudes of “constitutional rights” that make them conveniently forget that constitutional rights do not allow them to do what they want within a private institution? Today, in “Karens Strike Again,” a woman threw a toddler-tantrum at a Costco because, outrageous, she didn’t want to wear a mask.
Today’s anti-masker comes in a long line of anti-mask Karens, like deranged Los Angeles merchant Joe’s Karen or Staten Island Karen, who was bullied outside the grocery store by fellow shoppers for not wearing a mask. But the latter Karen did not even claim to have a health problem preventing her from wearing a mask, based on the old “I’m an American” argument.
“The new sighting of ‘Costco Karen’ – throws a 3-year-old tantrum – sits on the floor and will not leave because ‘this is America’.” He tries to lie about the medical condition and then changes his mind, “shared the Twitter user @OnlyInLVNV on Thursday, July 2, 2020, which leads us to believe that this happened at a Costco in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There is a state-wide mask ordinance in Nevada, which means that citizens must wear masks whenever they are inside a public place, which is basically all buildings except private residences. “Shirtless. No shoes. No mask. No service,” Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak said in June when he announced the order.
Clearly, this Costco Karen did not receive the memo. When a Costco employee very politely asked her to put on a mask while inside the store, the woman refused, claiming that the mask rule was “her problem,” what does that mean? The woman admitted that she does not have a medical condition, but stated that her reason for rejecting the mask is because “I am a US citizen. I have constitutional rights, ”to which the employee, again, politely reminded him that he is in a private place of business where masks are required.
The employee asked the woman to step aside while she had her manager handle it and the woman sat down. down. in. he. floor. Finally, the manager arrived and was overly saccharine, approaching the woman with a joviality, “What can I do for you?” While we’re on the subject, can we get a moratorium on good customer service when it comes to authorized white people who refuse to wear masks? It is very difficult to see employees treating these Karens with such respect.
The video is cut off when the manager arrives, so it is unclear how it “ends,” but it probably ends like everyone else … Karen goes on with her life, naively believing they have a constitutional right to ignore the rules imposed by the government and private institutions. . For the record, masks work. Don’t be like Costco Karen, put on the damn mask.
