Texpats in Denver, happy: 2020 finally has (maybe) a gift in store for you between two buns.
Whataburger – which, for Coloradans who do not know, Texan is popularly known as “cult-favorite fast food” – just announced the launch of its food truck, “a modern masterpiece in orange and white,” according to the release of the company.
The 36-foot mobile will have the burger power of a regular Whataburger retail store. What exactly is a Whataburger?
Here’s how my colleague Tiney Ricciardi – herself a recent transplant from the land of toast and brisket – describes it:
“Whataburger is everything you want from a fast food burger and fries without extra fat and guilt. Because many locations are open 24 hours a day, it makes a perfect beer sponge if you want to be there. It’s a meal as delicious as it is humble, just like Texas, that I will add is the largest state in the nation. ‘
Easy, Texas.
Because this news is too good for 2020, the truck will embark on a 20-tour in 2021, first stopping in Whataburger’s existing 10 states in the southern United States. (None of these are Colorado.)
But there is hope for Colorado: “As the market expands into new markets, the truck will give new locations and fans a taste of what’s to come,” the company says.
The Denver Post has reached out to Whataburger and is awaiting a response with the expected dates and Colorado stops on its world tour.
