Recently, Will Smith once again shared a photo of himself with Hubert on social media, making fans feel extraordinary about the past and excited about what it means to move on.

When Hubert was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reed in Season Four, reports initially said that according to Districtify, she would have left due to creative differences. But it later turned out that she was taking series issues with Smith and other cast members.
In between his exits, Smith gave an interview with the Atlanta radio station in 1993 where he said (via E! News):
I can directly say that Janet Hubert wanted the show to be the bell of the Bell-Air show because I knew it would make me a dog in the press. It’s basically nothing more than a quarter of a million dollars. She is insane now but she has gone insane everywhere. She once said, I’ve been in business for 10 years and come up with this slotty-nosed punk and get a show. ‘It doesn’t matter, I’m just an antichrist.
Meanwhile Hubert told Omji! Inside in 2013, Smith did “horrible things” for her during her show. She did not elaborate but what happened was apparently serious that it made Hubert vow to work with her again, although she later hinted that she is open to rejoining the above interview with OMG! After news broke on September 1 that the reunion was coming on a special HBO Max, Smith went to Instagram to share photos from the meeting with the cast. On September 10, he posted a photo of himself with Hubert and another with the rest of the cast: Red, Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), Karin Parsons (Hillary), Tatiana Ali (Ashley), Joseph Marcel (Geoffrey), and DJ Jazzy. Jeff (Jazz). (James Avery, who played Uncle Phil, died in 2013).
“It’s exactly 30 years from today, because Bell-Air’s @ FreshPrince has started! So we’re doing something for all of you … Family Reunion Comin ‘for Real Banks’ Coming Soon @ on HBOMEX! RIP James. He wrote in the caption, #FreshPrince 30m.
In the photo with Hubert, the two are seen smiling and smiling in what appears to be a friendly conversation between them. The TV line notes that HBO Max describes the meeting as an “emotional reunion and frank conversation” in nearly three decades of production.

Reactions to the reunion between Will Smith and Janet Hubert are encouraging
One Twitter user did not believe that Smith and Hubert had gone back and forth between them for years. Tweet: “Will Smith and OG Antiv (Janet Hubert) for the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion. Hell is frozen! ”
“This is exactly what the world needs right now,” another fan wrote in the comments section of Smith’s post.
“I’m so glad they put their differences aside and buried Kalash, because this is our character community,” read another To tweet.
“This was a very long term,” the third To tweet Part said.
According to the TV line, fans can expect a reunion around Thanksgiving years later.
