On Saturday, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) DDG Mutha Ashok Jain said that statements of actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Karisma Prakash have been recorded. No one has been re-summoned so far, he said.
Deepika is reported to have broken up three times during an interrogation by the NCB on Saturday. Actor, co-stars Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were questioned by the NCB in connection with the alleged use of drugs in Bollywood.
Deepika, who was in Goa for the shooting of her next film with Shakun Batra, went back to Mumbai after being called by the NCB. The actor was the first of three actors to arrive at the NCB office fee in Colaba. She arrived around 9:45 a.m. and reportedly left the area at 3:30 p.m.
According to an India Today report, Bajirao Mastani’s actor broke down three times during interrogation. He was told by NCB officials not to play the ’emotional card’. The actor admitted to WhatsApp chats with his manager Karishma Prakash, but refused to take drugs. Deepika had confronted Karishma during interrogation, sources said.
Sara and Shraddha also refused to take drugs during their interrogation session with NCB officials. The statements of the three actors have been recorded in the drug probe linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and the alleged Bollywood-drugs connection.
The NCB also arrested producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad in a drugs case linked to Sushant’s death on Saturday. On Friday morning he was picked up by an NCB team from his residence in suburban Versova and interrogated all day at the Ballard Estate office fee. The agency has so far arrested at least 18 people in these cases.
Sara and Shraddha were interrogated at the NCB’s zonal office fee at Ballard Estate, while Deepika was interrogated at a guest house in Colaba, a Central Agency official said. Shraddha reached the NCB office fee around 12 noon and left six hours later, while Sara arrived at 1 pm and left at 5.30 pm.
