Wichita State basketball coach Greg Marshall has resigned following an internal investigation into allegations of physical and verbal abuse, the school announced Tuesday.
The school and Marshall agreed to pay કર 7.75 million over the next six years.

Assistant coach Isaac Brown will be the team’s interim head coach.
Before announcing his resignation, Marshall met with the team and staff and told them to move forward under Brown and “shock the world,” a source in the program told ESPN’s Myron Medcalf. In early October, Wichita State confirmed that it had hired St. Louis-based law firm Tueth Keane to conduct an internal investigation into Marshall’s behavior following numerous allegations by former players at the stadium and athletics.
At the time, Marshall said he had “fully cooperated” in the investigation.
Athletic initially filed a number of allegations against Marshall from the 2015-16 season, including pushing Marshall and later punishing former player Shakville Morris; Marshall is putting one of his hands around the staff member’s neck; And Marshall is trying to give the student-athlete down and punch in another game parked in his parking lot.
Morris told the stadium that Marshall punched him during practice. After an accident, Morris said he went to help teammate Zach Brown and was then punched by Marshall. According to Morris, the incident happened the same day he told Marshall that his mother had cancer.
The stadium also reported that the staff member trying to suffocate Marshall was former assistant coach Kyle Lindstad, who is now in Minnesota. Lindsay declined to comment when Medcalf arrived after the stadium report.

Wichita State saw a mass departure from its basketball program last spring, with eight players initially entering the transfer portal. Marchel Wichita is the winning coach of state history, having led the Shockers to eight NCAA tournaments since taking office in 2007. Wichita State started 35-0 before losing to Kentucky in the second round.
Marshall also guided the Shockers from their Missouri Valley Conference to the transition to the American Athletic Conference in 2017. After joining the AAC, Wichita State went to the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and was in the mix for a second bid in the second season before the tournament was canceled due to a coronavirus epidemic.
Before reaching Wichita State, Marshall was the head coach of Winthrop for nine seasons. The South Carolina native led the Eagles in seven NCAA tournaments, including an upset win over Notre Dame in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
Marshall, 57, was previously assistant coach at Marshall, Charleston, Belmont Abbey and Randolph-M Mac Kahn, where he played from 1981 to 1985.
