Why Brad Pitt was banned from entering China for almost 20 years


Following the release of his film ‘Seven Years in Tibet’, Brad Pitt stood for a ban in China for 20 years

Brad Pitt has ruled over not only Hollywood, but has become the leading star around the world.

And although he has become a household name in almost every country with his perceptive ability and irregular brilliance, there is one country in the world that the actor was unwelcome in: China.

After the release of his film Seven years in Tibet, de Fighting club hunk opposed a ban in China that lasted more than 20 years.

Pitt played the part of an Austrian mountaineer named Heinrich Harrer who ended up befriending the Dalai Lama during China’s takeover of Tibet.

Soon after the film’s release, China became a hostile ground for all the things that involved the golden boy of Hollywood, with all films being unofficially banned in the country.

This did not end until 2016 when Pitt’s film Allied came out and the release in China lifts the actor’s ban because it was partly funded by the Chinese company Huahua Media.
