GENEVA (Reuters) – The World Health Organization warned on Tuesday against complacency about new coronavirus transmission in the northern hemisphere summer, saying that this virus did not behave like influenza that tends to follow seasonal trends.

“People are still thinking about the seasons. What we all need to understand is that this is a new virus and … it behaves differently, “Margaret Harris said in a virtual briefing in Geneva, urging vigilance on measures to delay transmission. that is spreading through mass meetings.

He also warned against thinking in terms of virus waves, saying: “It will be a big wave. It is going to go up and down a little bit. It is best to flatten it out and make it something that licks your feet.”
