The alarm over the new variable, which was first identified in the southeast of England, resulted in British tourists being cut off from Europe and other parts of the world as countries banned travel from the UK.

The new version of Covid-19 is believed to be in England, it has also been identified in Dalendmark, the Netherlands and Australia, said World Health Organization Covid-19 technical lead Maria van Kerkov on Sunday.
