Most users (72 percent) reported connecting, sending or receiving messages, as well as login problems.

On various social networks, including Twitter, users posted about the issues they were facing with the popular cross-platform messaging app.

“Has anyone noticed that WhatsApp is down … Or is it just me …” wrote a user on Twitter.

Another tweeted: “WhatsApp is idle even after uninstalling, reinstalling and restarting my phone.”

“I go to Twitter to confirm if WhatsApp is really wrong #WhatsApp,” wrote another user.

#whatsappdown soon started trending on Twitter.

However, shortly thereafter the platform started working again.

This is not the first time that the messaging application has stopped working. WhatsApp users faced a similar problem twice in January 2019.
