Moffy Powerstation XXL

Moffy PowerStation XXL Power Bank

At best, most power banks don’t look like that, and – at worst, it’s equally ugly to sin. I’m not afraid to admit that I initially bought Moffy’s imaginatively named PowerStation XXL because I think it looks beautiful with its fabric cover. But I am here to recommend the line because it offers an amazing mix of features.

Moffy offers a handful of fabric-clad powerstation power bank models with batteries of various capacities. If you bought an iPhone 12, a starting point is the 6,000mAh model. It comes in four color options, including Navy Blue which is a close match to the blue of the iPhone 12. This included Lightning port allows you to charge the power bank using the cable that comes with your new iPhone. It also has USB-A and USB-C connections, with support for PD fast charging, so you can charge two devices at once.

If you want something more significant, look no further than the PowerStation XXL. I have the 2017 model, but Moffy recently updated the PowerStation XXL to increase its battery size up to 20,000mAh. It also added an additional USB-A port and support for 18WP fast charging – and reduced that price to $ 60.

The 20,000 mAh capacity of the powerstation puts it on power banks under the FAA’s 100Wh limit. So you will have no problem in bringing domestic and international flights. I have taken my unit, which has a 19,500 mAh battery, which includes dozens of trips, including three 14-hour flights to Asia. Even using the Pixel 3, there was never a point in those trips where my devices went out of power. And is that the top layer of fabric? It protects the device from scratches, and makes it pleasant to hold. Oh, and it looks beautiful too.

Anchor Powercore Speed 20000 PD Charger

Anchor Powercore Speed 20000 PD Charger

Anchor

The main thing I’m looking for in a battery pack is relief: I want something that I can throw in a bag that can top-up everything I’ve traveled. I chose the Speed of Anchor Powercore last year because it nicely covers two devices I use far away from the outlet: my iPhone and my Nintendo Switch Lite. It also comes with its own capable USB-C power adapter, which I use as a bedside charger at home.

When I’m not at home, a 20,100 mAh powercore speed can charge my iPhone 11 Pro at full speed and my switch light at almost full speed (24 W), and still has 60 percent capacity left. I also have a 12-inch MBKbook that I travel on occasionally, which takes a little slower than a single battery pack – even a little slower.

Back when I was traveling long distances frequently the power outlet was not working properly while the flights had powercore speed lifesavers (which often happens). The only drawback of Powercore Speed to me is its lack of ports: the USB-C PD port / Insight is a single 24W, and a USB-A. If I were to buy one now, I’d probably own the Powercore +, which has a 45W USB-C port and two 15W USB-A ports. (It also has a slightly larger battery at 26,800 mAh.)

Key Key Omnia 100 W PD Charger

Key Key Omnia 100W PD Charger

Key

I’m not sure what’s wrong – l .ging around a set of different charging cables or AC adapters. At least the cables can be wrapped together with small velcro wraps. AC adapters are frustratingly wide, and it’s possible that each of the devices you come up with comes with a different wattage. But the key’s Om Mini PD charger eliminates the need for all those different adapters because, thanks to its 100 W charging capabilities, it can power almost any laptop, tablet or smartphone at top speed.

I’ve used it with my 13-inch MBBook Pro and my iPad Pro, and have been consistently impressed with its ability to charge quickly even when I’m using the device. It’s also half the size of the adapter that came with my laptop, so it’s much easier to take with me … you know, back when I actually left the house. I also like that it uses gallium nitride (GAIN) technology to keep the excess heat to a minimum – unlike some other adapters used in the past, it stays relatively cool even after charging my laptop for hours on end. I only have a charger with a USB-C port, but the key key recently brought a new model that has two. If you are worried about being able to charge only one device at a time, you can opt for a new model instead.
