Given a chance to brush your shoulders with the richest person in the world at a party, what would you say to make an impression?
Comedian Kevin Hart was in the same situation when he saw Jeff Bezos at the Superbowl party in 2019. According to Bloomberg, the founder and CEO of Amazon is currently valued at $ 193 billion.
As Hart recalls the May 25 podcast episode, “The JR Rogan Experience,” the New England Patriots have just won a superboble, and Tom Brad is giving a speech thanking billionaire owner Robert Kraft.
When Bezos went to a private party, Hart said to his friend, “I’ll say, ‘What’s going on?’ I would love to pick his brain. He’s an interesting person, “he told Rogan. Hart’s friend told him it wasn’t a good idea, as he would look “thirsty” or irritated and overly emotional.
But Hart went to Bezos and introduced himself to his wife Enico Parish. “Hey man, I admire you,” Hart told Bezos. He added that he respects Bezos for “creating and accomplishing ઘટના an event.”
“I want to shake your hand. I’d love to talk one day,” Hart called out to Bezos.
Bezos said it was nice to meet Hardik, and he’s sure we’ll give each other a break one day.
For Hart, getting face time was important. In fact, Hart had “a bunch of questions about this Amazon” and why Bezos came up with it. He said, “I don’t think this is the time or place, but I want you to see my face.” Even if he had never seen Bezos again, they had met at least once, he said.
“I don’t want anything, but what I did [was] “When I got the chance I arranged myself for another conversation,” Hart told Rogan.
Hart said people often feel “too cold” or lack the humility to ask people questions or present themselves to others. “I didn’t have a level of coolness that would stop me from going inside, saying hello or asking any questions about it,” he said.
“My ambition grows out of possibility,” he said.
According to Forbes, Hart was the highest-earning stand-up comedian in 2019, grossing 59 59 million. In addition to stand-up comedy, he has starred in several hit movies, including “Ride Al, Nd”, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Night School”.
Early in his career, Hart said he constantly lived in situations where he was wondering how others succeeded. “I find myself saying, how? But why? Well, then what did you do?” He told the disease.
Instead of just “stumbling” on information, he learned to network and ask for it. “Maybe you’re in the right environment. You can hear some stuff. You can ask some questions,” Hart told Rogan. “But nine out of 10 times he didn’t get offered.”
Hart recently released the Aud Double iDobook on Success, which he called “Today’s Working Today BS for Tomorrow’s Success.”
