West Virginia GOP Governor: ‘I don’t really know what the big rush to get rid of the mask is’.

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) met with fellow GOPs in Texas and Mississippi in an interview with CNN on Thursday. Regarding the removal of the mask order about governors, he said the state would maintain its sanctions for that time.

“I will not allow this to become political football,” the judge told CNN’s John King. “In West Virginia, we want to be vigilant, we want to be safe, we want to respect everyone’s rights and everything, and we’ve done the right thing by this thing.”

Throughout the epidemic, the judge said, “We have always listened to the experts and we always lead them … We remain courageous but we remain vigilant.”

“If we continue vaccinating more and more, we will get rid of the mask. But I don’t really know what the big rush to get rid of the mask is because there is a lot left over from this mask, a lot of life,” he added. The judge added that he and his medical advisers have yet to discuss removing the mask order. “If we don’t pay attention, we can make some mistakes.”

Government of Texas. Greg Abbott and Mississippi Governor. Tate Reeves both announced this week that they would completely remove all masks in the state and limitations on business ability. Large retailers such as Target, CVS Health and Aldi, however, have said they will keep their mask requirements even in the mandatory states.
