Leslie Jones, Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, and Tatiana Maslany will reveal this year’s contenders for the primetime television awards.
After delaying deadlines amid the uncertainty surrounding the new coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Emmy Awards are back to normal with the announcement of the nominations broadcast live on Tuesday at 8:30 am PT.
Viewers can see the ad on the Emmys website and on Facebook and YouTube accounts. Leslie Jones will present the virtual revelation of the nominees, where she will be accompanied by Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, Tatiana Maslany and the CEO of the Television Academy Frank Scherma.
Jones and company will reveal the nominees for the main Emmy categories, including best drama, best comedy and more. After watching the announcement live on Tuesday, head over to Hollywood reporterEmmys page for more content, including nominee interviews, analysis, and more.
The look of the annual celebration of television excellence as the COVID-19 pandemic continues remains unclear, but ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said THR in June there are “multiple plans for an in-person ceremony and a virtual ceremony.”
The 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards has not changed since its original date, despite the postponement and delays of other Hollywood events, including next year’s Golden Globes ceremony and the 2021 Academy Awards.
Jimmy Kimmel is set to produce and host the Emmys 2020, which will air on September 20 at 5 p.m. PT on ABC.
