Watch Dogs Legion will allow you to play as a descendant of Jacob Frye from Assassin’s Creed

Perhaps the most interesting concept in Watch Dogs Legion is that all the characters in its world are playable, including a descendant of Jacob Frye from Assassin’s Creed.

For those who don’t know Jacob Frye, he was one of the two protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, along with his older twin, Evie. A Killer Master of the British Brotherhood, Jacob was active during the Victorian era in London.

Watch Dogs Legion takes place almost two centuries after Syndicate, but it also takes place in London, so it makes sense for the game to be delivered to one of the other bigger Ubisoft series, presenting a harmless but nonetheless present world.

Here’s a tweet showing Jacob and the descendant of Evie Frye, who works as a professional killer in London after Brexit.

“Watch Dogs Legion will allow you to play as a descendant of Jacob Frye,” the tweet says. “Good connection between both franchises”.

As you can see, the character in question is named Sandra Cassidy. She is a professional hitman who dodges it with a Desert Eagle, hopefully one with slightly less recoil than the one in COD 4.

Anyway, the logic behind this is that Cassidy appeared after someone previewing the game emphatically connected some Assassin’s Creed names.

You can see, based on their profession, that the player specifically searched for “descendants of Jacob Frye”, whether it is currently known if there are other people descended from your favorite assassins, but the Frye twins probably make more sense as ancestors because of their London based activity.

There’s another cool Assassin’s Creed Easter egg in the Watch Dogs Legion as well, which means the developers could have included several subtle nods to the series.

Watch Dogs Legion will launch on October 29, 2020. If you want to know more, we spent three hours with the game last week, here are our hands-on impressions.
