The US Open is on the line for the 120th time this week as first-round proceedings begin on Thursday at Winged Foot in South New York. There will be no crowds in re-presence amid the Covid-19 epidemic, with golfers embracing the surroundings well in previous events. Most of the world’s top golfers will study the perfect weather to pick the first major championship of the 2020-21 season.
Dustin Johnson will look to continue the incredible game that dominated him in the last EW week and won the FedEx Cup. The almost matching DJ for the shot has been Jon John Rehm, who is behind him on the US Open messy board before the event. After an incredible performance at the PGA Championship, Colin Morikawa will have two big wins in a row, while Justin Thomas, Xander Schaufel and Brian de Kembeu will be among those hoping to bounce back. Of course, Tiger Woods will be in action, and Phil Mickelson (moving to -10-18) is still looking for his first US Open to complete his career slam.
