Walmart stores in NJ are ready to offer COVID vaccinations, the company says



Those looking for a coronavirus vaccine will soon be choosing 12 Walmart and Sam Club stores, the company said.

When the company receives the vaccine, together with health officials in New Jersey, the retail giant will join six mega centers in six states and 200 other locations.

According to data from the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New Jersey has been criticized for having slower rollouts than dozens of other states, and TheLamart sites could help. .

Walmart spokesman Alexa Cangialosi said in a statement that the announcement was made by Walmart spokeswoman Alexa Cangialosi.

“So far, we have approximately 100 stores and SAM clubs that have vaccinated that state in more than half a dozen states, including New Jersey here.”

Stores and clubs are preparing to vaccinate priority populations in the following locations: Pleasantville, Toms River, North Brunswick, Burlington Township, Pensville, Franklin, Garfield, Hamilton, Wineland, Linden, North Bergen and Bunton.

Currently, shots are available for healthcare workers, long-term care residents and congregation residents, and for police and firefighters. This includes smokers aged 65 or over and between 16 and 64 with special medical conditions.

Almost every site in the state has asked people to pre-register through the state website. Many have reported getting appointment times within several weeks.

The announcement comes as more coronavirus cases and 1 death were reported in the state on Sunday. On the same day the state health department released a new forecast model that shows Sunday could be the state of the second wave of the epidemic.

The New Jersey vaccine may depend on how quickly the dose is received and distributed. Gov. Phil Murphy has said he wants to vaccinate the state’s eligible 0% eligible population – about one million people – by May.

Walmart also has a website and store locator dedicated to vaccines.

At full capacity, the company expects to be able to deliver 10 to 13 million doses per month nationally when it approves supply and allocation, Walmart officials said in a statement.
