Voting: B Artx Brawl: Dual # 58 – Super Mario All Stars

Main

For the latest entry into Nintendo Life’s Art Browl Canon, art enthusiasts, and welcome back. Yes, this week we will take another look at some retro game covers and it will be up to you to choose the best one.

The last time we took a look Blue Ninja Shadow of the Cage Dragon Natsume has variously named 2D side-scrollers for the NES No Called. It was a close, brave three-way war, but eventually North America emerged victorious over Europe, while Japan finished third.

Big Mario news this week and after arrival Super Mario All Stars As part of the Nintendo Switch subs online fringe offering fringe, we considered the right time for a little plumbing action in the brawl. We will enjoy Super Mario 3D All Stars In a matter of weeks, but in today’s dual we’re back to its super Nintendo predecessor since 1993.

Four games, two covers, one vote. Let’s see what they have …

North America / Europe

N.A.

The European cover was essentially the North American cover, so this week’s dual. It had yellow borders in some countries (and a Super Mario World The logo, if it was the version that even bundled that game – one Hell One cartridge, it was one), but the main art was the same.

Surrounded by various peppers, different enemies and allies in different costumes, the berserk looks like a cloud behind it, and defends the full manzari, star-wielding stick presented by Mario in the magician’s costume, we consider the vague sense of this. Very good adventures inside. It lacks focus, but has a lot to choose from.

Japan

J.P.

The Japanese version, on the other hand, replaced Medcap magic with a solid gold statue of Mario in the magician’s get-up. Icons, with top show artwork of the four included games Super Mario Bros. 2 Carrying her Super Mario Bros. USA Japanese title in blue border of large ‘coins’ in the middle.

‘Super Mario Bros.’ No. We’re not sure about the stencil font, but for sure it’s a colorful, classy cover. Maybe it’s a little too much, though. After all, it’s not all glitter gold, right?

Yes, we mean ‘Glister’! Ask Alex.

Bonus!

And as a sticky little non-polished bonus, let’s take a look at the cover of the 25th anniversary release for the Wii (yes, it’s a decade old now), which channels the Japanese cover but tones it with a velvety red background:
