Observers said that during his time in office, Mr. Azevêdo encountered many difficulties due to the administration of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. “The selection process (the new CEO) can trick us, or worse, stop us, looking for the desired results. We can spend valuable time in a process.” the political is easy to divide in the past, “he said.
As a general rule, the process of selecting a successor will begin in December 2020 with the nomination of candidates. The selection process takes approximately 3 months in 2021 or more. Mr. Azevêdo stated that he will continue to work to improve and strengthen the WTO until the last day in office.
