On the morning of October 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Homeland Front Committee held a social criticism conference with a project project on organizing administrative units at district and commune level in the city of Ho Chi Minh for the period 2019-2021.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Homeland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the people’s committees from all the districts and districts have completed the collection of the views of the voters on the disposition of executive units. principal.

According to Mr. Phuoc, although the majority of voters agreed with the plan to merge districts and districts, some voters still wonder about the name of the district and the administrative management after the merger.

At the conference, Mr. Phan Anh Minh, former deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that the arrangement of administrative units should pay attention to stabilizing people’s lives in the long term; avoid discomfort.

Mr. Minh also said that under the scheme, Districts 6, 7, 8 (District 3) will be merged into Vo Thi Sau District. Vo Thi Sau is a heroine of the nation who has made the country merit. But is it appropriate to take the name of a great historical figure in the name of the neighborhood? And why did she choose the name Vo Thi Sau over no other name? This needs to be convincingly explained.

Not only that, when changing the name of a new neighborhood, all the residents of 3 neighborhoods have to change their documents and papers.

Mr. Minh also pointed out another aspect: that under the project, Hall 14 and Hall 13 (Phu Nhuan District) will be merged into Hall 13; Hall 12 and Hall 13 (District 4) were merged into Hall 13.

According to Mr. Minh, there are many Christians in the community. For Christians, the number 13 is an unfortunate number. Therefore, choosing the number 13 to name the new neighborhood will not suit your wishes.

“I’m not a superstitious person. But this should really be taken into account. Even for district names, we only have district numbers from district 1 to district 12 and we move on to district names, avoiding district 13. So which one? is the reason why the room level should have room 13? Why not when room 14 is merged and room 13 is not named room 14? “asked Mr. Minh.
