In the dialogue, the driver of GrabBike, Tran Duc An, asked Grab to break the VAT calculation plan, not to add a deduction of more than 27.2%. “We can only help Grab collect 10% VAT from customers, which does not affect our revenue. At the same time, we want to keep the cost of using the app unchanged at 20%,” he said. talk.

Another driver also suggested that Grab clearly separate the app on how much VAT and app usage fees, as well as details of the driver’s income.

As for the driver Le Thanh Nam, he felt that after December 5, his income decreased significantly. According to him, Grab is trying to calculate taxes and drive according to his own understanding, without understanding the driver.

After more than 2 hours of dialogue, Grab confirmed that it continues to comply with Decree 126, because it operates in accordance with the laws of Vietnam. Ms. Hai Van said that Grab will refund the VAT to the driver if the authorities have an official document to adjust it more appropriately. At the moment, Grab withholds the deductible rate of more than 27.2% (applied from December 5) to GrabBike drivers on each trip.

In addition, the Grab representative also acknowledged that Decree 126 still has some inappropriate problems, shortcomings that affect the driver’s income. Currently, this legal document is applying the implementation of the traditional transportation business model to the Grab model. From the first day the decree was drawn up, in May, Grab has sent comments on the draft to the Directorate General for Taxation and the Government Office, suggesting more suitable options for the business model, but Grab said it has yet to do so. has done. get feedback.
