According to historical physician Tran Duc Anh Son, using ao dai for jogging is an activity to honor and promote Ao Dai on purpose by the race organizers. Therefore, it is a promotional activity and a cultural activity.

Ao dai is a cultural product, belongs to the intangible cultural form. The use of ao dai for performance is an activity subject to laws and treaties related to the preservation, performance, honor, exploitation and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage.

However, contrary to previous views, many people expressed that wearing an ao dai for running is legal, there is nothing offensive, and each individual’s “freedom to dress”.
