Ms. Đ.T.K.Y. (29 years) patient 141 Infected with Covid-19, he was the second physician at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the fourth medical staff in Vietnam was confirmed to be positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Dr. Y. infected nCoV during the ventilator setup operation for patient 28, one of the severe cases of Covid-19.

It is known that when the Covid-19 epidemic began to invade our country, all emergency physicians were ordered to divide into many teams to be ready to respond. Dr. Y. has been involved in treatment since phase 2 of the epidemic, in early March.

Ms. Y.’s task is to select Covid-19 suspect patients at the hospital, treat positively diagnosed patients, and participate in emergency care for some severe cases.

Ms. Y. said that as soon as she accepted the assignment, she determined that she could be at risk of infection at any time. On March 21, when she learned that her colleague was involved in the emergency care of her 28-year-old NXT positive doctor SARS-CoV-2 (patient 116), Ms. Y. was mentally prepared for bad situations

On March 25, it was also confirmed that Doctor Y. had Covid-19, transferred to isolation treatment at the hospital’s Internal Medicine Department. Ms. Y. shared that what she was most concerned about at the time was that it could become a source of infection for her colleagues in the Emergency Department.

Fortunately, in the following days, all of the remaining medical staff in the department were nCoV negative many times in a row, alleviating all of the doctors’ concerns.

During treatment, Mrs. Y. only had a mild cough and fever. These symptoms disappear quickly and then stop completely after about a month. Dr. Y. has repeatedly reported negative nCoV results, of which the last two on May 9 and 12 gave similar results.

On May 14, it was announced that Ms. Y. would be cured with seven other Covid-19 patients at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

Sharing at the ceremony, the 29-year-old doctor thanked colleagues at the hospital for enthusiastically caring for her in the past and for helping her complete the remaining tasks in treating patients. .

Dr. Y. will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days. After that, she planned to return to the hospital to await the assignment of other tasks.

Previously, Dr. N.X.T., it was announced that Ms. Y’s colleague in the Emergency Department would be cured on April 7. The two nurses at the Bach Mai Hospital Tropical Disease Center, who have also recovered since mid-April, have already finished their quarantine period and returned home.

Vietnam has now cured 260/288 patients with Covid-19, reaching 90% of the total number of cases. The remaining 28 patients who are being treated in health centers currently have 9 negative patients 2 consecutive times, 5 cases are negative for the first time.
