On the afternoon of October 8, Vietnam registered 1 new case of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases across the country to 1,100.
The new case of Covid-19 that was registered this afternoon is that of a 29-year-old man living in the Hung Dao neighborhood, Dong Trieu city, Quang Ninh province. This is also the 1100th case of Covid-19 in Vietnam.
Patient 1100 from the Russian Federation entered Can Tho Airport on flight QH9495 on September 26 and was transferred to concentrated isolation in the student dormitory in Bac Lieu province immediately after entry.
The patient had close contact with patients 1091, 1092, 1093, and 1094.
On October 4, the patient presented symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, and decreased smell. The second test result on October 7 at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City showed positive results for SAR-CoV-2.
Currently the patient is isolated and treated at the Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital.
From September 3 to the present, Vietnam has not registered cases of Covid-19 in the community.
So today is the 36th day that Vietnam has not reported Covid-19 cases in the community. The total number of cases from February to now is 1,100 cases, of which 691 cases are in the country.
However, at present, medical facilities only treat 39 cases, of which 8 people have had 2 negative tests, preparing for discharge from hospital.
The localities are currently isolating and monitoring the health of more than 14,000 people, of which 276 cases are isolated in the hospital, more than 11,500 people are isolated, the rest of more than 2,400 people are monitoring at home and accommodation. .
Recently, Vietnam has decided to resume 7 international routes, of which there are only 2 flights from Korea to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but due to disagreement over isolation regulations, the Ministry of Transport is currently Transport has suspended commercial flights to Vietnam.
