Vietnam has started its largest vaccination campaign to date

Since this morning, Vietnam has launched the Covid-19 vaccination for the first people. Three vice ministers of health will be directly present to supervise.

On the morning of March 8, Vietnam deployed AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine at 4 locations: Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ho Chi Minh City Health Center. Hai Duong and Kim Thanh (Hai Duong) District Medical Center.

The first injections start at 8 a.m. M. Nearly 300 healthcare workers directly treating Covid-19 patients will be the first to be injected into this batch.

The second dose is repeated after 3 months. The injected person will stay under the monitoring site for 30 minutes and continue to go home for monitoring for the first 24 hours.

Currently, Vietnam has just received 117,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Due to the limited number, in the first injection, the Ministry of Health will give priority to assign to the Centers for Disease Control in 13 provinces and cities where there are 71,000 epidemic doses, the Ministry of Defense 30,000 doses, 21 medical facilities to treat the disease Covid-19 multiplies the amount of 5,200 doses.

Immediately after this morning’s injection, the vaccinated facilities will continue to vaccinate, ensuring that each injection site does not exceed 100 people / session.

This year, Vietnam plans to inject at least 100 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine into people, the largest vaccination campaign ever conducted.
