According to the AFP news agency, Biden further consolidated his victory by beating Trump in a state that has traditionally favored Republicans, Georgia.
In Georgia, CNN, ABC and several other television networks announced Joe Biden as the winner. It is also the state that has not had a Democratic presidential candidate since Bill Clinton in 1992.
The state of Georgia is manually counting the votes and is scheduled to be completed next week. Biden currently leads around 140,000 popular votes and his legal team is very confident that his victory here will not be reversed.
Meanwhile, according to CNN and NBC, Trump also won in North Carolina, bringing the total number of electoral votes he received to 232 votes.
Earlier, the US media announced that Joe Biden was elected after reaching the necessary 270 electoral votes last Saturday (November 7).
However, so far Trump has not declared his defeat. According to Reuters, Trump support groups planned to hold marches in Washington on November 14 to express their sympathy for Trump’s allegations of election fraud.
Trump thanked his followers on Twitter on November 13 and said he may be present at the march event in Washington, DC, to greet his followers.
Along with the events in Washington, protests in support of Trump and protests against the protests are also planned in many other major cities across the country.
Trump supporters are expected to gather near Freedom Plaza, east of the White House. They gave different names to their marches, including “Million MAGA March”, “March for Trump” and “Stop the Steal DC”.
“MAGA” stands for Trump’s motto “Make America Great Again.”
Since Joe Biden was announced by the American media as elected, there have been many demonstrations to support incumbent President Donald Trump, but the number and scale are small. The events scheduled for November 14 are much bigger.
