He also thanked Vietnam for its efforts to help find soldiers missing in the war and will continue to promote cooperation projects and activities in this area.
The visit comes almost a month after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo paid an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Adviser O’Brien also participated last week in the ASEAN – US Summit hosted by Vietnam via an online form. He highly appreciates Vietnam’s proactive role as ASEAN 2020 president in the difficult context of Covid-19.
After Trump came to power, the United States and North Korea experienced months of intimidation and insults against each other.
