Information and Communications Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said of digital transformation in remote areas: “The e-commerce floor is also set for people to sell their bunch of bananas at high prices.”

The government met, agreed on the content, and asked the Ministry of Information and Communications to consider more about its authority to issue the Code.

The Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung, received many questions about the control of content on social media.

“This week, we will propose the authority to issue the Code and in 2020 the Code will certainly be issued,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said.

On the issue of child protection in the network environment mentioned by the delegates, Minister Hung said that this content has been integrated into the Code of Conduct.

Along with that, the Ministry of Information and Communication was also assigned to develop a project to guide children to interact, operate and create safely in the Internet environment; including creating a single track to receive and process information about abused children on the Internet.

This project also describes a solution for the use of AI (artificial intelligence) applications to filter and detect harmful content and risks of child abuse in the Internet environment; coordinate network operators and content providers to force the removal of child abuse content from the Internet environment.

The Ministry of Information and Communication also aims to equip children with digital skills so that they can identify risks in the Internet environment.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated that this project is definitely signed in 2020.

Selling smartphones for only 600,000 VND

With the issue of digital transformation for ethnic minority people from delegates Luu Van Duc, Minister Hung stated, this is a priority task. In experience, digital transformation takes place in places where the more difficult it is, the more effective it is. Therefore, the digital transformation strategy in Vietnam will also start from the most difficult place.

Consequently, the first objective is to cover telecommunications in mountainous and remote areas so that people can have access to the Internet, 3G and 4G.

Another plan by the Ministry of Information and Communications, later this year, will test the mobile money service so that people in this area can make online payments without a bank card.

State management agencies also declared a goal of selling smartphones at preferential prices, only 600,000 – 700,000 VND / unit for people to use.

To promote digital transformation, agencies also prioritize online education so that ethnic minority children can learn from the best teachers and best programs for free online.
