5 suspected kidnapping and extortion suspects were arrested, including: Tran Anh Tuan (33 years old, from Tay Ninh), Tran Van Tin (aka Nao, 30 years old, from Tien Giang), Nguyen Van Thuan (47 years old), Nguyen Xuan Cao (38, from Lam Dong) and Mai Xuan Duy (from Lam Dong).
According to the record, on 5.12 Mr. Tran Quang Vinh (49 years old, resident of H. Xuyen Moc, Ba Ria – Vung Tau) received a call from a group of visitors to buy land. While looking at the ground, Mr. Vinh was bound by a group of hands and feet, blindfolded, trapped in a car and transported to a remote hill in Lam Dong province.

After that, the group of kidnappers called Mr. Vinh’s wife, Ms. Đ.TH, demanding 4.5 billion VND and threatened to kill the victim if the family did not respond.
Currently, the police are investigating to expand the kidnapping and extortion case to 4.5 billion VND.
