On the morning of October 22, Vietnam registered 1 new case of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 1,145.
Patient 1145 is a 29-year-old man, a Vietnamese citizen, residing in Ky Anh city, Ha Tinh province. On October 20, the patient returned from Angola to Vietnam on flight VN8, entered Van Don Airport, Quang Ninh, and was later transferred to isolation at Regiment 833, Bac Ninh province.
Test results on October 21 at the Bac Ninh Province Center for Disease Control showed positive results for SARS-CoV-2.
Currently the patient is isolated and treated at Bac Ninh General Hospital.

Thus, on the morning of October 22, our country has registered 1,145 cases of Covid-19, of which 691 cases are in the country. However, today Vietnam has entered the 50th day of not registering cases in the community.
Currently, health facilities have cured 1,406 cases, only 61 patients with Covid-19 are being treated, this is a series of new patients in the last 50 days.
The localities are isolated and monitoring the health of about 14,000 people, of which 149 cases are isolated in the hospital, more than 12,000 people are isolated, the rest are isolated at home and in accommodation.
Vietnam maintained almost 2 months of no cases from the Covid-19 community, which is a good sign when a number of countries around the world are flaming up again. Especially, the number of new cases in many European countries today, such as Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Poland, has increased 3-4 times compared to the peak in March.
So far, the world has recorded around 41.5 million cases, with more than 1.1 million deaths caused by Covid-19 in 217 countries and territories.
The United States is the country most affected by the epidemic, followed by India and Brazil.
The World Health Organization is concerned that the Covid-19 crisis will become more serious and more deaths are expected in the coming time.
In the ASEAN region, Indonesia has overtaken the Philippines to become the leading country in the region in terms of the total number of cases and the number of deaths caused by the pandemic. The next epidemic areas are the Philippines and Singapore. Singapore plans to introduce rapid tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at weddings and business conferences in an effort to quickly reopen the economy.
