The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) surprised many employees by making the request, in the context of Democratic candidate Joe Biden, appointed by the media as president-elect, officials. authorities said anonymously on 11/10.
The White House budget proposal is typically brought to Congress for approval in February, at least two weeks after President Donald Trump leaves the White House. He lost to Biden in this year’s election and the Democratic candidate will be sworn in on January 20.
The new Biden administration is also expected to present a budget plan to parliament early next year.
When asked if next year’s budget process would go according to plan, an OMB spokesperson said: “Of course it will.”

This move by OMD is similar to the actions of other Trump administration officials, as the Public Services Administration (GSA) has yet to sign a document recognizing Biden as the winner of the election.
OMB Director Russ Vought, one of Trump’s most loyal cabinet officials since taking office in 2018, is seen by many as an “obstacle” to the transition of power.
Two government officials involved in the new budget proposal process said it was “very unusual” for the White House not to adjust the budget plan based on the election results. “They are pretending nothing happened. We all have to pretend this is normal and do all this work,” an official said.
The proposed annual budget is a major White House plan outlining the administration’s recommendations on spending and taxes. Although many of the proposals were later rejected by parliament, it still served as an important milestone for the start of the fiscal year negotiations.
The budget proposal being developed by the Trump administration will last from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.
The US news agency named Biden the 46th president of the United States when he obtained at least 290 electoral votes, but Trump did not accept this result, said that “the election is far from over” and confirmed that he will continue to expel legal efforts to combat the “electoral fraud” to the end.
