The man was hospitalized in a state of being impaled by a tree from the perineum to the abdomen.

Mr. LVN (44 years old, living in Dong Thap province) is sitting on a wooden floor under a ditch. Suddenly, the wooden floor collapsed, causing Mr. N. to fall into a ditch and was stabbed by a wooden stake from the bottom up in the perineal region through the anterior abdominal wall.

Family members of Mr. N. responded and had to mobilize 15 people to rescue. One group of people leaned their shoulders to prevent the patient from suffocating, the others took turns diving into the water to cut down wooden trees.

It took the villagers up to 20 minutes to cut down trees and bring the patient ashore. Immediately afterwards, the patient, with a wooden tree (1.5 m long, 6 cm wide) still plugged in, was rushed to Can Tho WW Hospital. The ultrasound showed that the tree was located under the muscular layer of the abdominal wall and the right scrotum. The patients indicated emergency surgery.

After 120 minutes, the surgery was successful. Currently, the patient has no fever, the incision is dry, and has stable survival.

The epithelium is the part of the body between the pubic bone and the coccyx, including the perineum and surrounding structures, that protects and supports the organs of the pelvic region, such as the uterus, vagina, and rectum. colon, bladder, anus … Therefore, perineal damage in both men and women affects daily activity and a prolonged treatment time affects quality of life.

To avoid damage to the perineum, people need to be careful living and working every day while moving in the forest, doing shifting cultivation, working on construction sites with a lot of iron and steel. Be careful when living not to slip or sit on sharp things like a cut tree, pillars, iron pillars … which can easily lead to serious accidents.
