On 11-12 (US time), the US Supreme Court rejected Texas’ lawsuit to cancel the election results in four battlefield states: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. The court held that the state of Texas did not have a “disputed position” to sue.
Responding to the Supreme Court decision, Attorney General Ken Paxton The state of Texas, which filed the lawsuit, said it was “regrettable” that the court dismissed the lawsuit and said it would continue to fight tirelessly.
“I will continue to act tirelessly to protect the integrity and security of our elections and to hold accountable those who evade election laws,” Paxton said.
Meanwhile, Allen West, chairman of the Texas Republican Party and a former congressman, issued a statement in which he continued to argue that there are allegations of widespread voter fraud, while criticizing the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court decision “set a precedent whereby states could violate the United States Constitution and be held accountable,” he warned.
The Republican also asked Texas and 17 states to submit comments in support of Texas’ lawsuit separating from the U.S., Tpig dai abc. “Perhaps the law-abiding states should come together and form a coalition of states that abide by the US Constitution,” West said.
Prior to, also this week, Kyle Biedermann, a member of the Republican Party of Texas, said he would propose a bill to allow a referendum to separate Texas from the United States and become an independent nation.
“The federal government lost control and did not represent the values of the people of Texas,” explained Kyle Biedermann.
According to NBC News, supporters of President Trump’s campaign have high hopes for Texas’ demand to reverse the election results before the electoral college votes for the presidency on December 14.
