“I think we can help them if they formally communicate with the Russian authorities,” Alexander Gintsburg, director of Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute, told the news agency. RIA Novosti days 2-10.

In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had registered the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine called Sputnik V. The Gamaleya Institute was developing the vaccine. The Sputnik V vaccine is currently in its third phase of testing, with 40,000 volunteers scheduled to be injected.

In an interview with Russian media, Gintsburg advised Trump administration officials to contact Russia to receive Sputnik V vaccines.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished President Trump a speedy recovery. “I am sure that your inherent vitality, good morals and optimism will help you to confront this dangerous virus,” Putin shared in a telegram to President Trump.

On social media, many Russians have wished Trump the best. Some even mentioned the Russian vaccine. “Treat him with Russian vaccines and drugs,” wrote a man named Alex Korolyov on the Russian social network VK. People are known to get vaccinated before they get sick to prevent them.
