HCMC“Patient 1347” taught at Key English Center, drank coffee at Highlands Van Hanh Mall, sang karaoke in District 10, before testing positive.
HCM City Health Department Director Nguyen Tan Binh said on the night of November 30 that a 32-year-old male patient, living in Binh Tien Street, Ward 3, District 6, is an English teacher at two Tan Binh branches and District 10. “Patient 1347” used to stay with the male flight attendant, “Patient 1342” in Tan Binh District during this time of isolation.
From November 16 to November 25, this teacher taught at the Key English English Center of District 10 and Tan Binh District, took a break for lunch at boarding school with “patient 1342” and then went to his own home in District 6.
On November 22, he and a friend had coffee at Highlands Van Hanh Mall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. At around 10-23 pm on November 23, he and 5 other people sang karaoke in Thanh Thai Street, District 10. From November 26-28, he went to teach and went home.
On the night of November 28, after “patient 1342” was announced, he was identified as F1, concentrated in isolation in District 6 and sampled for testing. Two days later, the test result was positive for nCoV, he became “patient 1347”, at Cu Chi Field Hospital for treatment.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has investigated, tracked down and identified 21 people in Tan Binh district, 9 people in Binh Tan, 7 people in district 6 and 109 people in district 10 who have contact with patients. All are centrally isolated and sampled. 52 people in Tan Binh district were found to be distant (F2), isolated at home, and tested.
Patient contact locations including residential areas, two Key English English centers, cafes, karaoke … are currently suspended for disinfecting. All personnel, security guards, and vehicle attendants at these locations are isolated at home and samples are taken.
The Health Ministry said it will provide the results of the contact report through Bluezone software to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to support the tracking.
The health sector continues to track and examine all cases of respiratory infections and suspected infections in medical examination and treatment facilities, especially places where patients have gone to immediately detect suspected infected persons.
