The Health Ministry said a 764- and 76-year-old patient in Hai Chau district, Da Nang, died on the night of September 1 at Hoa Vang Medical Center.
The cause of death is determined by septic shock, irreversible multiorgan failure, pneumonia in patients with chronic renal failure, hemodialysis, hypertension, epidural hematoma, blood clotting disorders, and severe exhaustion.
This patient was hospitalized on August 7, then had 3 consecutive negative tests for SARS-CoV-2 on August 30, August 31, and September 1. Therefore, the Ministry of Health does not consider this case of death from Covid-19.
Thus, from July 31 to now, the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 in Vietnam is still 34 cases.
Serious patient with Covid-19 treated in Da Nang
Patient 764 has a history of chronic kidney failure, hemodialysis for 2 years at Danang Hospital. The patient’s son is the one who takes the patient directly to dialysis.
From July 1 to 14, the patient was hospitalized at the Department of Endocrinology – Endocrinology of Da Nang Hospital and was later discharged.
However, on July 15, patients who fell must be transferred to the Da Nang Hospital emergency department for treatment, and then they must go to the Department of Endocrinology – Endocrinology until July 28. This time, only the patient’s wife takes care of the patient.
On July 28, after the dialysis was completed, the patient was transferred to isolation at Luna Diamond Hotel, Ho Nghinh Street, Phuoc My District, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.
On June 8, examined for oropharyngeal fluid, on August 7, the result confirmed Covid-19, transferred to Hoa Vang Medical Center for treatment.
