Patient 1440 (residing in Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province) is a person who entered Vietnam illegally, was sent by his family to report, and tested positive for COVID-19 on December 26.

Patient 1440 said that along with 5 other people who illegally entered Vietnam early in the morning of December 24, including patient 1451, a young man named K. in District 9 (Ho Chi Minh City) and a girl in Dong Thap , all both were positive for COVID-19.
