Quang NamMr. Ho Van Hoi, 44, in Tra Linh Commune (Nam Tra My District) was suddenly attacked by a bear while walking through the middle of the forest.
On the morning of November 19, Mr. Hoi visited the ginseng garden planted on Ngoc Linh Mountain. On the way back to the forest path, he was attacked by a wild bear, scratching his face, neck, and head.
Mr. Hoi defended himself for a time when the bear left. He had many serious injuries to his body, especially in the area of his face.
The doctor at Nam Tra My District Medical Center said the patient seriously injured his left eyeball, tore his right hand and suffered many injuries to the area of the neck artery. “We provide first aid and transfer patients to higher levels for treatment,” the doctor said.
Ngoc Linh is the highest mountain mass in central Vietnam, located in the Truong Son mountain range. The mountain peak is located in Kon Tum, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces. Nam Tra My district area is virgin forest, where local people plant ginseng of the same name under the forest canopy.
