The head of the US election security agency, Chris Krebs, was fired by US President Donald Trump, recently interviewed on CBS News.
Trump shook hands with Chris Krebs during an event in 2018.
In an interview on CBS News’s “60 Minutes” show, Krebs said he was “not very surprised” when Trump fired him on Twitter, but he didn’t want to leave that way.
“I don’t know if I should be surprised. But that’s not how I want to go,” Krebs said.
Krebs is the director of the US electoral security agency, fired on November 17 after “pouring cold water” in his attempt to prove Trump’s electoral fraud.
Krebs was appointed by Trump as director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
On November 12, CISA issued a statement saying the 2020 elections were “the safest in American history” and denied claims that the voting system had been compromised by any means.
In an interview on CBS News, Krebs described the electoral fraud allegations by Trump and his associates as “insane.”
“The evidence is on the ballots,” Krebs said. “The recounts are consistent with the initial results of the vote count. For me, that confirms that the systems used in the 2020 elections are working as expected and that the American people must have 100% confidence in their vote. “
Responding to what saddened me the most when I was fired, Kreb said: “What saddens me the most is that I don’t even have a chance to say goodbye to my team.”
In the end, Krebs claimed that he still defends the position in the agency’s report that the 2020 elections are “the safest in US history.”

Not only did he fail to reverse the results, but Biden also widened the voting gap.
