This morning, the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department updated the most recent situation in Case 91 of Covid-19 (British pilot) under treatment at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City.


At 7:30 on April 12, the progression of the British pilot patient’s disease still showed no signs of recovery, although the SARS-COV-2 test result was negative.

According to the City Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the evaluation of the patient’s lung function showed that the lung damage stopped progressing, but ventilation was still very limited, the severe coagulation disorder had not improved. The results of the SARS-COV-2 RT-PCR test on bronchial and nasopharyngeal samples were negative.

Currently, the patient has no fever, remains still (with sedative), pulse 106l / ph, HA 116/69 mmHg, SpO2 95%, PaO2 83mmHg. The patient continued to invade mechanical ventilation with VA / C mode, FiO2 40%, PEEP 10 cmH2O, continuous oxygenation of the blood through the external body membrane (ECMO) and continuous dialysis.

The Tropical Diseases Hospital periodically updates the situation and consults with the national professional council to agree on the next treatment. Currently, according to the consultation opinion of the National Technical Council, in addition to the intensive intensive respiratory resuscitation interventions mentioned above, the treatment of blood coagulation disorders in this patient is focusing on Treatment of HIT-induced thrombocytopenia.

Therefore, as of 9 a.m. today, Ho Chi Minh City has only 15 positive cases with SARS-VOC-2 isolated and treated in hospitals assigned to receive Covid-19 treatment. Of which, only 1 case of the 91st severe severe Covid-19 was actively treated at the aforementioned Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the remaining 14 cases remained stable (13 cases under treatment) at the Cu Chi field hospital, 1 case in the Covid-19 Can Gio hospital).
