This morning, authorities found 2 more bodies in a landslide that covered the camps of 4 people heading into the forest in Quang Binh. Authorities are working hard to find the remaining victim.
On the afternoon of October 24, Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Chairman of the Hung Trach Commune People’s Committee, Bo Trach District (Quang Binh), said that authorities found 3 more bodies in the landslide in this location.
The victims discovered were Nguyen Van Hanh (SN 1967), Tran Van Ly (SN 1960) and Nguyen Van Sang (SN 1987), all residents of Hung Trach commune.
Thus, the 4 landslide victims were found buried while searching for sediments in the Bong Lai forest area.
How Intellectual people 10 days ago, a group of 4 people residing in the Hung Trach commune included: Nguyen Van Son (SN 1973), Nguyen Van Hanh (SN 1967), Nguyen Van Sang (SN 1987) and Tran Van Ly (SN 1960) together in the forest to find sea bass. When they entered the forest, they pitched tents at the foot of the hill.
During the last days, when there were floods and rains, the relatives tried to contact 4 people but failed.
On the morning of October 23, when the floodwaters receded, relatives arrived at the camp area of the four people above and discovered that the hill had been eroded, burying the entire camp.
Excavating the area of the landslide, around 5:30 pm the same day, Mr. Son’s body was found buried under a pile of rock and dirt. Along the morning of October 24, the bodies of Hanh and Mr. Ly were also found. In the afternoon of the same day, he found Sang’s body.
At present, the bodies of the victims have been removed to attend to local custom. The landslide zone is known to be deep in the forest, making it difficult to remove the bodies of the victims.
