When the competent force signaled to stop the car, instead of obeying, the driver of the speeding truck crashed into a mobile police officer and resulted in death.
The identity of the dead soldier is Nguyen Van Manh, 23, a resident of Luc Nam District, who works in the Mobile Police Department (Bac Giang Province Police).
On the afternoon of September 14, Mr. Manh and a task force from the Traffic Police Department, the Economic Police Department (Bac Giang Province Police) were on duty on the Hanoi – Bac Giang Expressway, the area that passes through the Yen Dung district.
During the mission, the task force discovered that a truck showed signs of violation, so it ordered it to stop. However, the driver showed no cooperation, then suddenly increased the throttle and ran forward and crashed into Private Manh, killing him.
After causing an accident, the truck driver got away. Upon arriving at Song Khe Commune, Bac Giang City, one of the two subjects in the truck was arrested, while the other fled but later surrendered.
Bac Giang province police are investigating to clarify the case.
